Foot Massage in China is a very important part of everyday Chinese life, it is available throughout China and foot massage is popular in India as well. Chinese Foot Massage concentrates more on meridians than reflex points. Although there is this extra focus on the meridians this treatment still fully covers the foot and reflex points of Western reflexology.

This treatment is more of a stimulating and invigorating therapy, whilst still being de-stressing, whereas Western reflexology is a more specific and relaxing experience.

The meridian healing system is a Chinese Medicine philosophy and is based on the concept that an insufficient supply of qi makes a person vulnerable to disease. Restoring the qi in a person can effect overall health and well-being to the individual.

There are about 649 acupuncture points and 20 meridians connecting most of the points, These 20 meridians include the “twelve regular channels” or “twelve regular meridians”, with each meridian corresponding to each organ; nourishing it and extending to an extremity. The twelve major meridians correspond to specific human organs: kidneys, liver, spleen, heart, lungs, pericardium, bladder, gall bladder, stomach, small and large intestines. I incorporate some Chinese foot massage in all my Reflexology treatments.
